It's disappointing, but not at all shocking. The mainstream news media has become more and more like infotainment and less and less impartial. They love to make champions out of people they previously vilified, and they are quick to crown people they previously mocked if that's what the rest of the crowd is doing. I admit to not knowing a ton about journalism, but there doesn't seem to be a helluva lot of integrity left in major news outlets.
It's a complicated set of things, ya know? It is sad and strange that he's gone, but it's (for me, anyway) especially sad for the survivors. MJ is now a Pop martyr and doubt will be forever cast on the kids who have to live with the effects of the abuse every day.
