I didn't even know they had a new album out and then when I found out I was like wtf? But I got it and I... hate it. :( I think it's really bad, tbh.

I like 2 or 3 songs but man... I don't think it's good.

yeah, i kinda figure this is how a lot of fans feel. i mean i like their other stuff better, but i still think it's a good album.

I am an older fan like way way way (2003) old so seeing Gabe put this out...it really disappointed me. He's always been awesome with lyrics and having that special unique punk-pop sound and this really just. Man it bummed me out. I was waiting for him to lay out his emotions on this cd (from his recent heartbreak) and all I got was one real song (fucked in love) and the rest are pressured and fake and they sound like a cliche pop band now

in an interview Gabe said he did write songs about his breakup, but thought they were too depressing to use. and i'm purty sure they don't care about money. Gabe seems to really like this album, and said it's actually hard to write pop songs, idk I know not everyone is gonna like it.

i've been a cobra fan for a few years now and i honestly thought that i was going to hate the album, but i love it. i am a huge fan of electronic music, and i appreciate that while a few of the songs are straight up techno-remix sounding, a lot of them have a genuine electronic feel, like "shwick", and i really like that about this album.

plus, even though the lyrics aren't super strong on some of the songs, i prefer the lyrics of night shades to the lyrics of say, almost all of the songs on viva. but that might be because viva is my least favorite album. while the city sleeps is still their best, but really, i like night shades better than anything else after the first album.

Yeah me too, that's prolly why i like it so much and Schwick is my favorite song. I also like most of the lyrics on night shades. And i've been thinking and I don't really have a fav album, i want to say while the city sleeps, but then i think about all the other songs i like from different albums haha

I feel their best album was viva la cobra. There was a nice balance of pop/dance songs such as kiss my sass and guilty pleasures and then their was his more heartfelt songs like one day robots will cry and that. I really miss that era.

Since i just got into them, i don't have their albums separated out into eras, ya know? so it's like all their songs are new to me, so there really isn;t anything for me too miss, other than i wish i was a fan from the beginning.
