Note: added everyone else who asked to the dull personal filter. Don't say I didn't warn you! ;)
Hey, remember when I promised a bunch of you babyfic? So...ta-daa! ...Except it's the wrong ship, the baby is Angel and Darla's, and there's not much of a focus on him at all. *hangs head* I fail at life. But I win at writing something before November

Anyway, most of it was just me flailing about going all:
- Buffy!Mom, where is Andrew!Daddy? Then realizing that now is neither the time nor the place.
- Spike! Dead!Spike! NO NO NO NO! Literal screaming but then realizing that once again, now is neither the time nor the place.
- I think Angelus still loved Buffy in his own twisted sense of the word, which really showed in your writing so that's really awesome.
- Also, how awesome are you? Really because I would read anything you write, of any ship of any kind and there will be praises for it because you rock my socks! Hahaha, you're awesome Mari :D

(And Spike had to die! Otherwise he just...takes over the story...)
Thank you! I think that the level of love in vampires is more twisted and about possession than actual love, so in that way, Angelus certainly loved Buffy. (I do wonder about chipped!Angelus, forced to spend long periods of time with the Scoobies, and if he'd change like Spike did (to a lesser degree).)

A brilliant idea that Buffy needed to have something to focus her anger on in order to end her depression. I love that as time goes on, Connor becomes so important to her and yet, even so, she can't find the strength to end Angel. He's her biggest weakness and I love how he exploited that throughout the story.
But I loved even more Buffy turning the tables at the end - she is not the naive 17 year old she once was.
Also, having Willow turn on Connor was both chilling and believable - she has a very dark streak.
One of my favorites in this ficathon.

Loved this story, loved that it was so Angelus-heavy. Your writing is very polished and easy to read; I was quite pulled in right from the beginning. Somehow I had the inkling that it was going to be a happy ending, but I could feel the urgency and danger in all the right parts anyway.
Also very pleased with how you used the secondary characters, especially Dawn, as she's one of my favorites. And Connor! Yaaay, baby boy to the rescue. I always like seeing an AU where Buffy gets to meet/hold him in his infancy. Raising him is even better.
The ending wrapped up very nicely, with Angelus finally attempting the one ploy that might work and Buffy turning it around on him. Cool premise, very skillfully executed.
Thanks for contributing to this year's marathon!
