we do NOT need the drama

So, we had a group of volunteers come out from local college to fill in a few hours for college credits. Most of the time, when this happens, these kids will do a fairly decent job, usually walking dogs, some light cleaning, things like that. Since they normally come in the afternoon, AFTER all the major cleaning is done, we just have them do ( Read more... )

Are you f##king kidding me?! Drama to the nth degree, my friend! That's total b/s! Here's hoping the little drama llama doesn't come back. She's over 18, therefore she is responsible for herself, and it sounds to me like she wanted to find an excuse to get out of the more "difficult" side of labour. WOW.

Drama and bs like this is why the shelter I volunteer for doesn't allow volunteers who are only looking to fulfill required hours. I realize that's a luxury that all shelters don't have, though!

My mother, who worked in early childhood education for decades, still says that the louder the wailing, the more likely it is to be crocodile tears.

I break out in minor hives when I touch dogs, and when I touch cats who don't get bathed regularly (which is to say, pretty much every cat but mine). I just make sure I wash my hands as soon after petting as possible, (generally I'm okay as long as I don't touch my face or let my inner arms touch the fur).

Unfortunately, pretty much all waterless hand sanitizers make me break out in little itchy red spots (it's like having poison ivy), and some commercial soaps (the kind you find in public restrooms). I keep a package of Wet Wipes in my car.

I had a friend when I was around 8 years old who was prone to those sorts of histrionics from the least tiny scratch or bump. I could tell it was a ploy for attention even then.
