So I joined this website called Linkedin.com, its supposed to be for networking and found my old Program head on there. In which I wanted to take advantage of to look at my resume and see what was going on, because there had to be something wrong if I haven't gotten an interview yet. This is what he wrote me back.

yeah pete signed up for linkedin. For all the good it really does, I guess it's supposed to be like a professional Facebook. Though, people say (and i'm not sure i take much stock in those "people") that businesses are checking Facebook pages before they hire people. Something to chew on as well.
When it came to job hunting, I pushed and pushed pete to be more creative in how he was looking for jobs. He was stubborn on most accounts, but some creativity helps. They do say it's who you know sometimes as to your luck of landing a job. Though, in my experience, the more likely chance of getting a job comes by either a: An employer who will take pretty much ANYBODY or b: Somehow you manage to be the only person available at the time.
So bascially, you've just gotta keep on trying and eventually someone will take you. Kind of negative? maybe. But i'd like to say realistic, practical and unrelenting.

Liz - it's not just that you were a warm body when you got hired, you had the educational credentials they were looking for! Sonya, are there some kind of courses or something you could take to help yourself?
Update your resume anyways and keep trying!

This is probably less than ideal advice, but one thing to remember is that everyone that you talk to can be a potential for networking. Not just other HR people. I suppose seeing it in person with my sister really opened my eyes, but she ended up networking with a multitude of people. I think that this might work for you too because HR isn't just one industry, every industry has some component of HR, I guess it's just finding someone that has a link to someone else. Which is always so much easier said than done. Good luck!

I'll admit it, sometimes I would log on here to get a better idea of how things are going for you. I am so glad to see no posts about sadness or let down. I think you are doing a great job with the new (okay not SO new job) and your panther in a kitty cat body. I think it's time to share some of your good news tales again.
