Alcohol.

No, seriously, it's a disinfectant and will help.

*looks at wallet* *looks at bank account* Nope, I'm afraid it can't be done. Also, I believe it's frowned upon to go to work buzzed. :(

I will remember that next time I have more than $6 to my name and it's night time. Thanks. ^_^

Tea with lemon, tea with honey, tea with tea...hot water on its own, in fact - or lightly flavored with lemon).

I drink ice water when I have a sore throat, but I'm strange. :)

Feel better!

honey is okay? I would figure it'd be a little like milk. Hmm I might be able to pull that one off.

Thank you. ^_^

Honey coats, but it is also healing, so if you've been coughing or the skin in the throat is irritated, it helps to sooth and accelerate healing (my grandmother used to use it on wounds too); Milk just adds to phlegminess.

Yea and milk is the perfect breading ground for bacteria. :) Thanks for the info on honey.

I have found that gargling with warm salt water helps. Salt acts as a disinfectant.

*sends you hugs*

Will try that as well. I don't think I can teach for 6 classes straight today without something. :(

Agreed. Make it as much salt as you can stand, one or two tablespoons per small glass of warm water - it really does the trick. Also, throw out your toothbrush, or disenfect it every day or so (dishwasher is best bet), then buy new ones once your throat feels better.

Oh thanks for the suggestion. I'll probably toss mine, it's getting kind of worn and I have another already. :B

lemon tea with honey... and a shot of alcohol, lol ;-)

if the sore throat is caused by a lot of phlegm build up in the throat that will not go away, something spicy can help to cut it. Me, I can gargle with habenaro sauce, but really, just a drop or two of tobasco in some hot chicken or veggie soup should do the trick. Also good for stuffed noses which can accompany such sore throats.

Squeeze a whole lemon and gulp it down straight, chase it with a spoonful of honey. Helps kill the germs and sooth.

Also lemon tea with honey is excellent throughout the day.
