Cory and I went to see Jonathan Coulton the other night and he performed "A Talk with George," one of his songs I'd never heard before and that I now love. It includes a line that says it's "not so far from here to there" and continues to sayEnjoy yourself, do the things that matter Cause there isn’t time and space to do it all Love the things you try, drink a cocktail wear a tie Show a little grace if you should fall I found this incredibly inspiring. I put a note to myself on my laptop reminding me that it's "not so far from here to there" and that I'll be done with my dissertation soon.
Also, we totally talked to Jonathan Coulton after the show and I told him this. Whee!
