Brokeback Mountain

You know what, probably everyone on my friends list has already seen this movie, but I still need to say this: Brokeback Mountain is one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful movies I've ever seen. I've been wanting to see it ever since it was released - but I've never had someone to see it with. In fact, most of my local friends just aren't that into movies, and those who are aren't very critical (I mean this in the most positive way: thoughtful) about them. Even bad films provide opportunities; for example, I just picked up a fabu collection of 50 vintage SF movies. Wheee! Gosh, but I wish you lived closer! 'Twould be fun to devour movies together.

It would be fun to watch movies together. :-)

But you still need to watch Brokeback Mountain. It doesn't matter if you have someone to watch it with or not. If I waited to find someone to watch movies with before I watched them, I'd see very few movies and would've missed some really excellent ones.

I have a few friends who are willing to watch movies with me and who are good movie-watching companions, but it's hard to schedule such things (somehow we're all such busy people) and then it's hard to agree on which movie to watch and then, too, there are so many other things to do when we're spending time together, so movies often get set aside. So most of my movie-watching gets done late at night at home alone, between the time when I'm done working for the day and the time when I could conceivably go to sleep.

That sounds like a familiar situation.

Okay, I'll just go ahead and watch it myself!
