Ta da! As of Saturday, May 27, chipleduff and I are now engaged. :)

And here I will recount the story. This will serve as the record that I can refer to. As I am quickly learning, when you become engaged, everyone wants to know the story. :)

As background, let me give a definition of "Geocaching".

"Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache."

This is a recent hobby of ours.

So, chipleduff asked me on Friday if I felt like going geocaching during the weekend, and I said sure. He came in on Saturday with a sheet of paper where he'd written down coordinates for two nearby caches. He told me that he thought one of them was on Wofford's campus. I was like, great, this one should be easy.

So we set off with the clue and GPS across campus to find it. We got near to the coordinates and began searching around for the cache. I eventually found it between two holly trees, and pulled it out. Inside was two fortune cookies, a pad of paper, a pen, and a camera. I immediately pulled out the pad of paper, and got excited, because it appeared that we were the first ones to find this cache. I immediately began trying to decide what to write in the logbook.

chipleduff: Why don't you open that fortune cookie?
cmmunchkin *thinks to self*: I don't want to open that cookie. It's pretty nasty for someone to put food in a geocache. But I'll open it anyway.

So I opened the first one, and the fortune inside said, "I love you Christy."

cmmunchkin: HAHA you are so funny. You hid this here yourself. Funny guy. *turns to begin writing in the pad of paper again*
chipleduff: Open the other one too.

So I open the second one, and the fortune inside said, "Will you marry me?"

cmmunchkin: Haha HA, you are so funny, yeah right... *trails off as I see him holding ring*

Immediately quit breathing and become light headed. :) It was rather unexpected. I guess most life-changing questions are. :)

Obviously I said yes.

And so now, that's the story, and we have NOT set a date (which is the second question everyone asks). The date will like be at least a year and a half from now, so nothing any time soon, but believe me... when we decide one, you all will be among the first to know. ;)

And that's our story. :)
