NOTICE: ONE NEW CATEGORY HAS BEEN ADDED - 'Best Smut/Sex Scene'.

First really official post of the awards community: the categories we'll be using to nominate all of the awesome fics in our fandom!

Nominations won't start until December 28th, but I'm posting the category descriptions for people to look over and familiarize themselves with. There are

And Emily is on the main character list after Morgan (I listed her as "Prentiss", though, not "Emily", so that may've been why you missed her).

1. I know the fandom is probably too small for pairing specific "best" awards at this point, but what about the rarepair love? :) (Edit: Also, best smut! *g*)

2. I'm super excited about this! Not just about the awards themselves, but reading the noms will be just like being handed a bunch of recs all at once! Whee! :DD

I'm glad you're getting excited about this (I can't believe nominations start tomorrow)! You're right - it will be great to have so many recs from the fandom. And thanks for the category suggestion. The only problem with rarepairs is that (as the name implies) they're rare. Also people seem to have different opinions of which pairings are 'rare' or not - especially since lovely writers like mcgarrygirl78, innerslytherin and yourself have been leading the charge with those pairings as of late :) So at this point I think the fandom might be too small for these as well. But maybe next year (if this goes well enough to have a 'next year')?

LOL This is very true re: rarepairs. To me, pairings like Reid/Rossi and Hotch/Rossi are SUPER rare, because I almost never see it outside of my own writing (or co-writing). I tend to forget just how damn much myself and Innerslytherin actually post, though! *headdesk*

I'm so sorry - I didn't see that there the first time around.

I debated about this, but I don't think I'm going to include that category either. There are sex/smut-specific communities (like Rounds of Kink) but a lot of people don't read those kinds of fic, or are turned off by some of the kinks included in some of those fics. I kind of wanted to keep the categories PG so that fans of every age can fully participate if they wish. Fics of all ratings will still be eligible for nomination (with a small warning posted beside them) for any of the categories, and many fics with smut/sex scenes would probably fit under one of the 'Best Romance' categories, but I'm iffy about giving a whole category to it. I'm really sorry. If a lot of people want it, though, I'll add it to next year's batch, but for now I think most of those fics can fit in elsewhere. Sorry again, and thanks for the suggestions! :)
