What an excellent website! Unfortunately, I'm more conflicted than ever. On one hand, I want the web to remain a place where "all packets were created equal" and the little guy with just enough money to maintain his Blogger subscription has the same opportunity to reach viewers that deep-pocket corporations have. On the other hand, I want as little government interference in my life as is possible. It's a tough call.

Yeah. The thing about internet technology is that it changes and evolves so rapidly, it is difficult to predict whether or not this (or any) kind of regulation would have some kind of unintended consequences down the road. We already have enough problems with the outdated patent office stifling innovation, it would be nice to live without regulation for as long as possible. And that brings me to the next point, why is this necessary now? There is no demonstrated need for net neutrality legislation, just a couple of concept services which have failed in the free market. It seems like we are trying to fix something that isn't a problem yet.

Good point. As I read more about it, what comes to mind is that this may be an area where it's best to just let the market work.

Both sides have good PR (catchy songs, funny videos), so this topic is getting lots of talk. No matter what happens in the end, I like that there is so much discussion happening, as that brings clarity.
