And I watched that drip, but it would not drop

I have absolutely no idea what I've done or how I did it, but I've really hurt my left foot. It started on Wednesday I think, but it was just a twinge and I didn't really think anything of it, but now I'm hobbling around and grimacing lots. It particularly hurts when I have to walk down stairs (it's not too bad going up them, strangely), so I'm ( Read more... )

I thought it was a bit dull whereas Sweden v Trinidad and Tobago was a great game even sans goals.

It wasn't a particularly great game, no, but I'd hesitate to call it dull because they did the traditional thing of making you wonder whether they were going to throw it all away, so you end up shouting "for christ's sake, clear it!" at the TV every two minutes.

The Sweden v Trinidad & Tobago game was a lot more interesting though. By their faces afterwards, you'd have thought Sweden had just been thrashed... they weren't very happy, were they?

I best stop prodding that small voodoo doll of you in the foot then. It seems to be working .... :)

Damn you and your voodoo!

Yeah, if you could stop now that'd be great. I'm heading off to a gig in a bit and it'd be nice to get there without hobbling. Plus, the gig's upstairs and the bar's downstairs, and since going down stairs is what makes it particularly painful I'm going to have to face a tough decision as to how much I want more than the one pint :(

Yes boss! I'm sure it'll be alright in a couple of days, it just needs a bit of a rest I think. That and some drugs!

lol, now now Chris, you don't need drugs to get you through the day!

Tell that to my foot!

Besides, music is my drug. Can't get through the day without that!

If you do fancy doing something other than studying, working and being lame (in the nicest sense) then maybe I could arrange a night out with the troops and pair you up with Helen of the broken foot. We could play one of those juvenile, drunken games where we knock on doors and run away - only you two can't so you get the blame- what do you reckon?

I might have known you'd be the first to come up with the "lame" thing. Well, actually you're the second, because on the way home last night I thought to myself "bloody hell I'm lame" (I might have chortled if I weren't too busy grimacing), but I might have known you'd be the first other person to come up with it.

But yeah, sounds like a good idea... even getting the blame for the juvenile games might be worth it if it involves the rare spectacle of you running!

Look look, it's your favourite! :: points at icon ::

Bjork - sorry cannot do a special o with " above it. Hmmm I have tried Chris, really perservered - listened to her alone and with others and still just don't get what all the fuss is about. My 5 yr old great niece sounds very similar when she sings lol.

I haven't run in ages till recently - surprised the hell out of me when I did it. The gym has made me fitter even if not slimmer lol. Oh and I have fearsome muscles hiding in the flab waiting to make a debut at some point.

She has got a pretty unique voice, I admit. It's a bit of an acquired taste! But her genius is more in the music than her vocal ability (which I think is great too, but I understand why it's not to everybody's liking). I just think she pushes a lot of boundaries and does some pretty daring stuff for someone with a (relatively) mainstream audience. I mean, her last album had no instruments at all, just voices - who else can you imagine would do that?

Okay, stop talking about running. It's discriminating against us poor hobbling folk who have enough trouble walking!
