so. there was a photograph I wanted desperately to take, specifically for you (well, and for me, it's true), but I didn't have time before my trip. the short story: a tree was cut down or fell down or something, a few blocks from my house. the stump was all hacked to bits for some reason. the people on that block made a sign for the stump. the sign was in Latin--it read something along the lines of the famous "veni, vidi, vici" but wasn't quite that (can't remember). laughed out loud when I first jogged by it one day and vowed to come back with camera in hand, but when I did, the sign had been replaced by another, less funny and less appropriate to you and I. sigh.
Aww, suckery. :\ It is one moment in time that cannot be gotten back. It transcends cameras and records. It is Latin at its best! This is what we will tell ourselves, and if we say it enough times it will be as good as Truth.

I might go over there later and try to resurrect the first sign anyway... maybe...
