You should read Wide Sargasso Sea which is a novel about Rochester's first wife that was written in the 1960s. It's a really good read.

Ever read The Eyre Affair, by Jasper Fforde? It's the first in a series about a literary detective, but the first one deals quite intimately with Jane and Mr. Rochester...

Yup, it's one of my favorite books! I've been meaning to get into his new series, about nursery rhymes and such. I own the first book; I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet .

Oooh, the one about Humpty Dumpty? I read the first two, and they were just as spifftastic! (And about 8 times funnier if you've read Thursday Next first. :-p)
