Does anyone really call their doctor "Doc" or is it just one of those trite appellations (like 'sis' and 'bro') that people use in poorly-written books or movies?
I do research for a history professor, and somehow I ended up just calling him "Doc." The nickname caught on, and now he even signs all his e-mails to me that way. It's kinda weird, but I guess we've gotten used to it, since it's been going on for over a year now!
