You didn't finish Rebecca??

You must finish it! In order to read the ending!
The. Very. Shocking. Ending.

I once, stupidly, went to a book club meeting, where we were discussing Rebecca, and I had to admit that I hadn't finished the book, but thought I'd come to the book club anyway, and it sort of ruined the meeting for everyone else, because they couldn't talk about the ending. And if you can't talk about THAT. Well. Then there's just not much to say.

:P

Love,
Ismene

that looks like the BBC top 100 books list (well top 400, but only the top 100 made the TV) from a year or so back
I read all the top 10 apart from Mockinbird and Winnie the Pooh, tried Captain Corellie but is was tedious, all about some bloke's ear (well, the bit i read at least). Catcher in the Rye one of the worst books I have ever read (again, I couldn't bring myself to finish it, though if Martin had written it, perhaps the whiny brat narrator might have got the kicking he deserved)
Dune and Watership Down the only top 50 books I have read and you haven't :)
Ooh, and Wind in the Willows. I got War and Peace form the library once, but didn't even start it, the introduction put me off
Maybe one day the local library will have some of the others of the top 20 in. Or I could actual shell out the money myself

Rebecca appeals most, the things they said in the TV show were interesting. Wuthering heights least, but that is partly because of Kate Bush

THANK YOU!!!
Every time I say to a friend that I couldn't finish Catcher in the Rye, they yell at me. The language made me want to scratch my eyes out.

What's wrong the the Brontë books? *lol* I LOVE Jane Eyre! Though I agree that Wuthering Heights leaves something to be desired. I didn't like it until I finally managed to make it through the first half of the book. :p Anges Gray isn't bad, though, either.

I'm with you guys on Catcher in the Rye. They tried to make me read it in high school and I refused. I scanned through it and knew I'd hate it. And Sela, be thankful you haven't read Lord of the Flies. *shudders* They DID make me read that one and it's awful. x.x

I Capture The Castle, Dodie Smith (Beautiful.)

The movie was good...

311. The Fountainhead, Ayn Rand (She's just so dull. :( )

No, not dull but she has a most definitely bleak outlook on the future...

342. The Mummy or Ramses the Damned, Anne Rice (Quite a good time. Should re-read sometime...)

This has to be my all time favorite by Anne Rice, I keep waiting for a sequel...

361. Neuromancer, William Gibson

Gibson has some cool ideas I liked all his books...

401. The Ellenium Series, David Eddings

Just the Ellenium? No Tamuli? No Belgariad? No Mallorean? What about The Elder Gods, that was pretty good and then there is Regina's Song...I really liked that one...

I read a few of the ones you have, never thought about putting a list together though...hmmm...

By the way, are the plain text ones the books you would like to read? Or was this a list given to you?

lol This is a list that I just copied. I have NOT read all these books, just the ones highlighted. This is some top-whatever book list. :)

The only thing I have read by David Eddings is the Belgariad; overall, did not enjoy it much. It started out well, but it took books and books of silly diversions to get where I knew it was going to get halfway through the first book, which ruins most anticipation. *tugs braid*
