So, I had a tumblr account already, but I thought I'd make a second blog to stick my fan-fiction up on (which wasn't such a good idea as I don't think people can message me and I can't follow anyone with it. You can have an Ask box on your secondary tumblr and people can comment to you that way. Or enable comments... but to be honest, I had a friend do that for me because the process was horrendous. At least, it was back when I signed up, a year ago. It may have changed since then.

Oh really?? I shall have to try that... the ask box part, not the comments thing, because I really shouldn't try and confuse myself anymore than necessary. Thank you for letting me know :D

As far as I can tell, the ask box only works with certain lay-outs unless you know how to do custom CSS*. When my comments disappeared, I went through a bunch of different designs until I found some that showed in the preview. But since the disappearing comments was my own damn fault (it helps with you use the right username to make them appear!), I was able to fix it and go back to something I liked more.

*This belief comes from a lack of "Ask Box y/n?" section visible when you click on "customize theme." I could be wrong, who knows?
