Curious

I was starting to work on making a new black tank top (I deleted my old one in a fit of cleaning), and I got to thinking about what you look for when downloading outfits for your simlets.  I thought I'd make a fancy-pants poll here and get some input from everyone.  Feel free to leave a comment if you'd like to.  ^_^

I generally prefer complete outfits because I'm too lazy to try and find the perfect match. But it depends on the creator, if the creator is making separates that have textures that mix and match well (like yours) then I'm more willing to give them a shot. For simple outfits jeans and tees for example, I like the variety that mixing and matching provides. I can use the same pair of jeans on everyone but still make them look different with various tops.

Since you're taking opinions and talking separates can I beg for female jeans and sneakers that aren't rolled up to the knees :D That's an example of a full body mesh that I would love to have separated.

....wow. Until you asked, I had no idea I hadn't already done the female jeans and sneakers as a separate! I most certainly can do that!

All done! They even have a fat morph. XD

I'll release them next time we update CC.

Unless a full outfit fits what I want *perfectly* I'm more inclined to use seperates, so it mostly depends on the sim and what I think they'd want to wear. I do like that seperates mean I can have shoes that suit my neighborhood climate, or the season. Heck, in one of my 'hoods if I found some bottoms with elastic-sided boots I'd probably never use whole outfits again!

I'm like that, only opposite! I tend to be able to find full outfits that suit a specific sim easier than separates.

I like complete outfits 80% of the time. Quite a few of my favourite creators don't create fat or pregnant morphs for their bottoms, so unless I want half-stomach syndrome, I'm better off with full body outfits. 'Course, not all full body outfits have those morphs, but I have more choices than with separates.

Guilty! What I'm planning to do is go back through my old meshes and add fat morphs where needed now that they no longer make me burst into tears. XD

For the record, I voted for separates, because I love variet, but it really varies with me. I love separates, because it offers more customization, but sometimes full-body outfits are just too nice to pass up. They also make it easier to breeze through CAS.

I'm really glad I got curious about this. Basically it means we can pretty much keep doing what we've been doing since it seems split so evenly between the two.

I don't think anyone would complain. :P

For me, I tend to download more complete outfits than separates mostly because I'm impatient and don't want to scroll separates and think about what to choose (too many choices available!). And most complete outfits fit what I require either way. I do download the occasional separates if I am thinking of a specific character in mind but I would say that would be around 20% of the time while the 80% is complete outfits.

I have to say that, as a downloader, that pretty much sounds like how I download things as well.
