I took a phone call at 7:15 this morning. Sometime between then and when I arrived at the office, my phone number switched from AT&T to T-Mobile. Now, if only my phone were anywhere close to me. I'm not a fan at all of the James T. Kirk figure; I can't get over how much he is in love with himself. I am inclined to root for the bad guys when he's on the side of good.

As a Picard Trekkie, I think both Link Hogthrob and Zapp Brannigan do Kirk better than Shatner did in the post-series, but at least he has a sense of humor about it, and the chemistry between him, Spock, and McCoy really made TOS worthwhile. I do tend to identify the weaker first and second season TNG eps with the early attempt to make Riker a Kirk proxy of sorts. I don't think that's coincidental.

I need a Picard icon.
