the disjunction I've missed about LJ

I've been looking at many of my LJ friends' journals. Most - not all - seem to stop around 2008. I'm not being judgmental about this, after all I stopped being active a few years before this. But it's interesting. Isn't 2008 when Facebook really hit mainstream?

Is LJ relevant when so many people share so much stuff via Facebook and Twitter? These

I miss LJ. Old school LJ is everything I want Facebook to be and Facebook disappoints me every time.
