I've regretfully only just read this as we were out for my mum's birthday, but for now I'll  leave you with a LOL and return tomorrow with fuller responses to everything!

Also, she turns out to be bald, because Renwick.

"Because Renwick" is now the default explanation for everything that is wrong in this show.

The thing that became overwhelmingly, frustratingly clear in this episode was that often, Jonathan and Maddy are downright nasty to each other.

Yeah. I think that may be why this episode isn't ranked amongst my favourites; they really are quite awful to each other at various points. I already discussed this in the email earlier, but yeah. Possibly the absolute lack of any kind of character / relationship / canon continuity just means that all of their interactions come out of nowhere, and then disappear again a week later to be replaced by a different level of snark/affection/whatever.

And yet: it's still better than Jonathan/Carla. :P

And yeah, it tops Jonathan/Carla any day!

Btw, you probably knew this, but I just started watching Restoration House on my mum's recommendation, and it turns out Caroline Quentin's the presenter! Nice show too, for those of us who wish we could buy and renovate our own castle... not a million miles from our cinema fantasy, come to think of it!

I have caught snippets of that show! I've started making a mental list of abandoned theatres / cinemas in the West Midlands in case my local theatre / conferencing / secret cinema business takes off and turns into a franchise. There's a lovely old art deco cinema in Dudley too...
