For this one I think it's the attention. When my husband is on his laptop on the table, she rolls around and sprawls across the table behind him. Though clearly it's less satisfying without the paper.

When I was in school I might be sitting on the couch, sorting through papers. This pile to be filed, this pile to be worked on, whatever. Auley always thought they were for him to sit on. Or chew, if he thought that'd get my attention. My dog has actually eaten my homework once or twice.

(And this is part of why I've resisted the suggestions to use shredded paper as "recycled" cat litter. I do not want to train my cats that paper is okay to go to the toilet on. There is way, way too much paper floating about my house to be okay with that.)
