Raising Hopes--and Goals.

It's been a good week for my stories. (This is funny, because I've been too sick and at-work to do anything with them.)

1. Baen's Universe, a pro-level publication, has pulled "Salvaging Scottwell" out of the slush pile and will be bumping it up for the Editor-in-Chief to look at. Now commences the biting of nails and crossing of fingers.

Is Baen's Universe web only? I want a dead-tree version of Salvaging Scottwell.

Unfortunately, I think it is. But! All is not lost. For one thing, there are a number of good print "best of--" or otherwise themed yearly anthologies (although we lost a great one this year) that accept reprints.

But eventually, once my stories have wended their way through print and reprint and podcast, I plan on loading them up into Anthology Builder, which seems to be a very interesting, decent quality, make-your-own-anthology POD publisher. It's also loosely associated with Baen,

I think it's a good model for what to do with a story's afterlife.
