Have you already done the battery hard reset on the Roomba?
(take the battery out, press a button or button combination [varies by series] for several seconds, replace the battery, and set the Roomba to charge. It will recharge slowly, like when you first bought it, and it should take a while hours to charge. In some cases, you'll want to keep it plugged into the charger for a period of time after this. Oftentimes this will restore the battery so that it goes back to cleaning for a decent period of time on each charge.)

You'll have to look it up on the website, procedure seems to vary widely by series.
