Help! I need help deciding between back cover copy blurbs for A Circus of Brass and Bone. You don't need to know anything about the story--it may be even better if you don't! There are three versions
( Read more... )
Hmmm... As someone who has read most of it (I'm still catching up on the most recent installations), I'd be inclined to pick the first of the three, because there were enough different points of view in the narrative that describing it as if it all centred on one character doesn't feel right to me.
However - if I imagine myself as someone who hadn't read or even heard of the story, and was browsing books in a bookstore (online or off), I suspect the description with Lacey would grab me more. But then when I read it I'd probably be confused by it not being all about her...
Really, though, I'd probably buy the book no matter which of the three blurbs it had, because CIRCUS + APOCALYPSE! :)
I agree, but think they are all a bit long for a blurb. Okay for the longer description that appears after the initial blurb when you click on a book online.
Ginger. Agree it's a bit long. Maybe cut some of the world calamity-explaining? The interested reader will find that all out through the story, I assume.
