Call me strange, but if I ever need a lawyer to protect my financial well-being or even my freedom, I'd like to think I'd choose one based on their qualifications, the universities that granted their degrees, their reputation, their poise in the courtroom, their knowledge of the inner mechanics of whichever area of law I need help in, etc. etc

What's even sadder is the Transformer commercial is a generic lawyer commercial. We have a lawyer up here using that one as well.
