Well, I don't know. It's Hollywood. There are politics. I think regardless of next week's outcome, Rob was obligated to invite them (because they decide his future and future salary), and they were obligated to come (because they might want his services in the future, be it for VM or another show), you know? But we can choose to view it as a good sign.

Pretty good chance the decision has not been finalized. I've actually been tangentially involved in a few of these processes (very tangentially), but enough to have first hand knowledge that decisions can be changed VERY late in the process.
