Now that most of my social life involves meeting parents of small babies, I've started dressing like a mummy, and even bought a pastel pink cardigan.

*cackle* I never change my wardrobe when I go out with evie_petrol. I always figure there's something really cute about a tall man in a black leather coat carrying a small pink-clad baby/toddler. I could be completely wrong about this, of course :-)

When evie_petrol was a baby, I found getting out to pubs during the day fairly straightforward. Once she got mobile, I had to stop taking her out to pubs, as she was just too wildly inquisitive, and "sitting in a high chair" is pretty much "being imprisoned by my evil parents" to her. I do miss weekend daytime meets :-( I'm looking forward to taking her to the local pubs in the village this summer though, as two of those have really good beer gardens with tables for adults and plenty of space for rampaging toddlers ( ... )

See, to me, without obviously knowing your friends, that just sounds like plain rudeness/selfishness. I'm a childless grown-up but in those circs I'd have needed to eat something or fall over in a heap, & if my friends ignored my needs like that I'd be pissed off. Same therefore goes for both you & your baby ( ... )

I'm glad you're all doing ok and that we're likely to see you on the 30th. Hopefully, come Summer, with the better weather and the smoking ban in place and Kit that little bit older, you'll be able to venture out to the pub and such more. People such as myself and randomstring, whilst not being close friends, certainly enjoy your company and would be pleased to see more of you all.

I still very much want to meet Kit - and to see you again, of course - and have been trying to scheme ways to get to York with Large Hairy Dog to visit :D

We're thinking of having a baby welcoming ceremony at some point, and you'll both be invited. However, knowing your hectic schedules, come to York any time you can.
