washing cloth pads to prevent yeast

Add plain white vinegar to the wash, if you're doing the pads alone in a small wash load a half cup should be enough. Make sure to wash on hot, and either dry thoroughly in the dryer, or in direct sun.

I'm in the same boat as you! I'm so afraid of reinfecting myself after having a recurring YI, so I'm kind of afraid to use my cloth pads again. I'm actually doing what the other commenter suggested, but I'm using  apple cider vinegar instead of white vinegar. ACV sitz baths are recommended to reduce YI symptoms, and I guess there is some evidence that it may kill yeast. So, we'll see I guess. (Also, if you go that route, be sure to use raw, organic ACV. Apparently some of the brands of just any ol' ACV you may find in the store are actually just white vinegar with caramel coloring added. Yikes!)
