Polar fleece is great, if you can afford it, get some! A lot of my favorite pads are from sellers who use it as a backing.

Personally I'm spoiled and have JoAnn-fabric store near me (it's a chain store). I get my "Anti-Pill" Polyester Fleece from there when it's on sale or with coupons. I've been using it for years with no problems! So if you have a fabric chain store near you, check it out?

I'm hesitant about micro-fleece because it's the thinnest fleece (if I remember correctly) and you need something dense/compact/slightly thick when it comes to fleece.

The 300 gsm bamboo fleece sounds perfect, I used to use the 16oz (280 gsm) bamboo fleece, but switched to a lighter weight. I highly recommend you use cotton flannel with the bamboo fleece, it adds some extra absorption and helps disperse the flow evenly.

Best hopes!
