Fabrics and cleaning?

Hi, I've been a coth pad user for a little over half a year. I started out with enough Lunapads to last me through a cycle and I was quite happy with them. But then I lost over half of my stash in a laundry mishap. My very favorite fabric is organic bamboo velour, but I confess that it does hold on to some blood bits on the top *unless* I do a long soak before washing in cold water to which I have added a warm solution of oxygen bleach (fwiw, oxiclean is harsher than some of the alternatives and may disintegrate some of their backings. However, there are still two random pads out of all the pads I own that held onto their stains a bit and also "bleached out" some where the stains are. This seems to have something to do with our body's pH responding to particular dyes in hand-dyed pads. I'm thankful that it's only two of them. But it does make me want to stick with swirly dyes instead of plain colors ( ... )

Most of my pads are all from etsy sellers or international small sellers :) The fabric toppers for most of them is flat cotton, flannel, and some hemp fleece. When a pad is stained, it's usually because they have been sitting for about 2 weeks all used (and no there is no odor) or I used the cheap version of oxyclean (Dollar Store stuff ( ... )
