I need help finding REALLY absorbent LONG cloth pads.

I bought some fuzzibunz cloth pads eons ago on amazon, but not it seems they only make cloth diapers. I love the fuzzibunz pads, my only complaint is that they are not long enough (only 8"). So I bought longer pads on Etsy.Except, even though they are for a heavy flow, blood goes through after ( Read more... )

buying pads, cloth pads - absorbency, vendor - other, menstrual flow - heavy, beginner/new to cloth, cloth pads - length

I like the Mimi's Dreams overnights, I get them in the thin option for day wear. Until they closed down I would get the Punky's Pads overnights because I liked the length. I like longer pads that aren't incredibly thick, with wings, and they are hard to find, so if you see any, let us know!

Try honouryourflow. They have a variety of thicknesses and huge lengths. It's the only way to go!

I have one overnight pad made by Obsidian Star. It's HUGE (but not uncomfortable, or obvious when you're wearing it), so it has great coverage. Not 100% sure on absorbency, whenever I end up using it my flow seems to really lighten up. Weird.

Maybe worth checking out though.

They are generally 3 layers of bamboo fleece (the heavyweight kind) plus 2 layers of flannel.... (sometimes I make them with 2 layers).

So should handle a very heavy flow no problems.

I can make any absorbency in any length and take custom listings if you want more layers, waterproofing etc. http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheLittleBlueRat I have mostly zorb pads listed, I know zorb isn't natural and that is most peoples beef with it, if they have any, but it is the only way I was able to use cloth successfully on my heaviest days, it takes up flow fast especially when paired with a textured fabric like flannel/velour/minky and can hold a lot more for its thickness than other fabrics I've found. The second best if you want something less manufactured/with less synthetics would be bamboo/hemp (I have a fabric option that is roughly half and half of each). It is absorbent, unbleached, totally natural, and could easily be used for the top or interior layers of a pad. In short I'd look for something other than flat cotton for the top of your pad, and something more substantial than cotton for the core, and you will probably want pul (waterproofing) ( ... )

I love NaturallyHip's pads- They're super thin and even the ones for lighter days are super absorbent. She also takes custom orders. You can find her here:
