I've uploaded templates and a photo-guide to making one of the styles of pad I make for good causes (such as Algerian Action's Project Washables). This one is a winged top with attached folding liner ( Read more... )

Do you sell these? I love the ones with folding layers because I think they just clean better.

I'd be happy to make you a set if you'd like one :) I don't usually sell pads, but I'd be happy to take some money and put it back towards my charity projects. I'm low on fabrics again! Email me via the alter-eco contact form if you'd like to work something out.

So gorgeous! Beautiful pads and very generous for you to do charity :)

I love foldable pads like this, and I like the insert style even more (like sckoon.com pads).

Yeah, I like the pocket pad style too, especially with a folding cloth inside. I make those for Algerian Action too, but haven't quite hit on the shape I like best yet :) I'm trying to come up with a wingless pocket pad this week :)

Oh! Have fun with that :) I'll stick to wings for me! Good luck finding the right shape for them!

How to the Sckoon pads work? I've been looking at their website, and I can't tell what part of the pad is meant to be worn against the skin, and I can't tell the difference between some of their different kinds of pads.

Thanks so much for posting this! It's really generous of you to make these to donate as well!

I've wanted to try my hand at making my own, especially since I got a sewing machine for a wedding gift that I haven't gotten to use yet. This would be a good basic pattern to start out with too, I feel. Very cute!

It's a nice easy one to make, and very forgiving of little (and less little!) mistakes.

I hope you enjoy trying it, and your machine!

I might have to make some of these for myself. I am soon going to be without a dryer.

It looks like the liners are about the same size as washcloths. Maybe in a pinch someone could use washcloths if they run out of liners.

A washcloth works very well :) There's enough give in the width to allow for a wider or bulkier cloth underneath.
