Hi Mikki, fun to see you over here too!

I replied on your LJ page about trading for pads, but I also wanted to answer a few of your questions that you asked here too. If you ever want to get together I would be happy to show you my stash, answer any questions, and stuff. You have already recieved so many great replies!

I have had no problems with leaks. You can use PUL, nylon, fleece, etc to make them waterproof. I have had good luck with all the above fabrics. I think the most important is the size of wings (wide enough) and if its absorbant enough. Yes t-shirts and old towels would be a very affordable way to sew some up! I know many people that have done this. Here are some links for sewing your own if your interested in giving that a try.

Let me know if you have any other questions... feel free to email me for my phone number if you would rather talk over the phone about your ?'s since we are local.

I have 8 pads from Sweetcheeks (http://www.newmoonpads.com/) and I have never had any leakage. They are made of flannelette as well as a sherpa fleece backing. The fleece is amazingly water proof.
