Nevermind FIRST date. I'm not even sure if there's such a thing as a date at all. I mean, I've heard people talking about it, but then again, I've also heard people talking about tooth fairies...

I know...
But in her defense, she had a thick accent and English was obviously not her first language. So I guess she'd heard the term flip-flop and then she got confused when she was talking about the flip-phone. It was still quite funny, though. Good thing it was a telephone conversation and she couldn't see my expression each time she said it.
I hate them. I really, really, really hate wearing them. I find it difficult to talk to people while I'm wearing my glasses. It's like there's some kind of barrier between us. You know on TV, when they go to visit somebody in prison and there's a piece of glass in between them and they have to talk on a telephone to hear each other. That's how I feel with my glasses on. Probably because I only started wearing glasses as an adult. If I had started as a child, I would have had more of a chance to get used to them. I've tried contacts, but they irritate my eyes too much. I guess I should be grateful that they help me see better...that's a good thing.
