Thanks, I'm so glad you liked it! I do like Goldberry (and Tom, too).

Oh those are lovely. So elegant and poetic and evocative (did you intend the suggestion of Goldberry dressing occasionally as a very superior kind of water-snake?). I like the way that you have made her a such a timeless and non-human creature, and the way that both she and Tom are as young and old as the seasons and the world. Since this style of writing is so completely unlike anything that I can do, I admire it when it's as well-done as it is here.

Thank you so much! I tend to play around more with drabbles and ficlets, because after all if you misjudge it and go OTT they're so short it doesn't really matter. It's lovely to hear you enjoyed these!

The River-Daughter thing always makes me think of Rhinemaidens and river sprites - hence this Goldberry. I was thinking of a fish , but a watersnake would work better with the coiling - she wears a dress of silver scales at one point in LOTR, or at least a dress likened to a fish's mail (if I were less sleepy, I would get up to check the reference; it's a while since I read it and I may be blurring details). I liked the idea of making that rather literal, a kind of shapeshifter's skin.
