"Maybe lightning shows up the cracks in the sky," he said. "Maybe that's behind everything. Fire and light..." ... That is a very lovely image, that is rather ominous too - great writing!!

I also love that Melinna had pink hair ... elves have always seemed to have such a distinct fashion, so candy-colored hair actually makes perfect sense!! :D

And, although Bree is all rainy and muddy in The Fellowship of the Ring, the way I pictured the landscape around it makes for perfect whirlwinds of dragon cub and urchin tumbling dust! :) :)

Thank you! :D I was borrowing from a course I did in pre-Socratic philosophy some years back; a couple of (very) classical cosmologies had some interesting ideas about what the cosmos is made out of.

And I'm so glad you like the whole thing! The last few have a lot to do with a sprawling and extremely frivolous forum game I've been involved in for a while -- and one version of Erestor's story is currently being played out as 'Tales of Older Days'. :'D

OK ... here is where my lack of ethernet knowledge comes out ... what is a forum game? I mean, I do know about the Roman Forum ... but I have a feeling that you are referring to something more internet-related ... maybe yes? maybe no? ... :D

Yes! :D Sorry, there's a forum in a different part of the internet where I go to be frivolous; our frivolity re: the urchin, the dragon cub and Inez has extended over several months. That's about it, really.

I always like to see them grouped together at the end of a set - and, like Arwen, I am all agog waiting for the next episode in the tale of the urchin and the dragon egg/cub.

They do make more sense all in one place and arranged in order, don't they? I'm hoping to get the tale of the urchin and the dragon cub done a chapter a week; but that partly depends on how much of my life is taken up by thesis work.

Thank you for rereading! :D

It's mighty powerful pictures you create there! You really know how to create a dense atmosphere with just a few words. I was really shivering while reading about blizzard, tempest and lightning...
And I am as curious as a child: what's that story about a dragon cub and an urchin? Pleeeeeeease!

Aww, thank you! You're always too kind! I wrote the snow drabbles while the UK was snowed under, which may have helped.

And as for the story of the dragon cub and the urchin -- check the next post down. :'D

I was drawn into this series of drabbles and the link of the weather between them; I drank hot chocolate and grinned at the last, with Arwen asking Celebrían if the story was true. I could so easily imagine the scene, with Celebrían at her tapestry and Arwen recounting the tale.

That sound so cosy, I envy you! And I'm glad this set works for you. I wrote most of these back at the start of the year, when the UK was covered in snow, and it probably shows. :D

The moment I saw 'snow' and 'blizzard', it had to be gotten! Especially as it's winter here!

It was also a good chance to cosy up - I like doing that when I read your stories!

I think it did, in the descriptions of the snow with how it glistened and the snowdrifts piling up.

Ah, I wondered! It's technically still summer here, but given how chilly it's been lately, I was very nearly tempted to go out and get hot chocolate and cosy up myself...
