Hi, Aislynn!

Don't worry about not having had time to read this before; RL can be a bitch and I'm so glad you like it now that you have read it! Especially this section, and Melian's final comment -- it is the punchline to the whole piece, really. :D In which respect, uh, I am now wincing slightly -- I had planned to end the story on this note, with just a brief epilogue and a Beleriand Treasury pastiche to come, but now I'm worried that might be premature. Hmmm, decisions.

Thanks so much for reading and for letting me know what you think, anyway! :D

Hi, Clodia!
The effect of the pompous style of the journal in contrast to the footnotes is an ingenious trick to emphasize the impact of both parts of this inventive and witty story. Seemingly you have the infallible talent to choose just the best style for each story you write.
Maybe I could have appreciated „The Journal of Alatáriel, Missionary“ even more if I had read the „Silmarillion“. Since I haven't, Admittedly, I had to consult the „Encyclopedia of Arda“ quite often.
The end of part 6, when Thingol and Melian so graciously welcomed „Teleporno“ (that name made me giggle whenever I stumbled over it in your text) and the oh, so modest, unexcelled Alatáriel, is my absolute favorite part of the whole story. I meant to hear the faint whiff of a subtly ironic untertone, when Melian welcomed the „missionary“ in her „barbaric“ realm...
Now I'm waiting impatiently for the last chapter!

Hi there!

You warm the cockles of my rather chilly heart. :'D This is a rather peculiar story even by my standards, and when I started writing it I was convinced no one other than me would find it amusing -- so I'm so pleased you've enjoyed it! Especially as you haven't read the Silmarillion, although in fairness you'd have to have glanced at the Unfinished Tales as well for a full overview of Galadriel's various backgrounds. (It is ridiculous, the range of different histories attached to her. And isn't Teleporno an awful name? :D) You definitely did hear irony in Melian's greeting -- that was meant to be the punchline to the whole story, and I'm grinning because you read it absolutely right.

Thank you so much, both for reading and for your lovely comment! It's taken the edge off a rather stressful day. :D Now let me just post the rest and then wander off to catch up on Something Else...
