My first reaction was to cheer Galadriel on although I knew she couldn't hear me. How well you wrote her in this scene. How much more alive she seems to me now.

Now that is really good to know -- I wrote this scene well before the Journal of Alatariel, but I had the Journal in mind even then, so I did want to give Galadriel her moment in the sun here to make up for the teasing there in advance... she is an awesome character, and I do feel we should make the most of every female character Tolkien gives us (they are so rare, after all, and so great -- Luthien especially, and her mother Melian, but certainly Galadriel as well).
