I'm not either! I will pretty much try anything that isn't cat or dog. My only "food of avoidance" were green peppers (because I threw them up once) and now, I can even do those.
But I remember being a kid and seeing kid eat cheese sandwiches on hamburger buns and thinking it was wrong. Just. Wrong.
I can't eat decanted yogurt. Like, it had better come out of the container right into my mouth because if it went into a bowl first, I'd be sick.
I can't eat a hamburger on a non-bun, either, unless it's an english muffin. Hamburger on bread? Gag. That's just as revolting as PB&J on a hamburger bun.
Also, I can't eat WET bread. French dip sandwiches? OMG eww.
I'm rather a fan of the cheesecake, I've gotta admit that. But I draw distinct lines between "cheesecake" and "cream cheese pie," as I've found a lot of people calling the latter "cheesecake." Cheesecake has to be baked. Anything else is just some cream cheese and some sweetened condensed milk.
All that said, cheesecake with soggy crust is very much unappetizing.
Hehe. If it helps any, I can't even eat a strictly sandwich-bread sandwich on regular bread - just on toast. Because generally, sandwich-bread is too squishy for me.
Ewww yogurt in a tube. I LOVE yogurt - but that stuff looks so unappealing.
And at least for me, my issue with eating "sandwich" type sandwiches on hamburger buns is because generally it's just too much bread - and the bread just tastes different.
I agree with you, swingangel. As for the hamburger buns, I don't have specific reservations with using buns instead of bread, and historically, I'd have compensated for the additional bread with equal amounts of filler. While not ideal, it's an acceptible substitute, or at least it was in my small bachelor's bubble. As such, PB&J or PB& honey is still messy. :)

And I'm really not a picky eater as far as ingredients are concerned, but there are just some things that I can't wrap my palate around.

And food in bulk grosses me out too. I cannot go to Sam's Club and look at a 2 gallon drum of mayo without wanting to puke.
