While I'm positively thrilled to have a Nigella show on Food Network (despite the fact that I still refuse to get cable and will have to catch it in other ways anyway), this article about the bastardization of cooking shows by The Food Network is fantastic.

That article's great. I'm happy they gave props to Alton, for he is truly awesome, and I'm glad that their plan to make him (and the others) sell stuff on a home shopping channel didn't work!

I must admit that I'm a compulsive Food Network watcher... but I get my 'real chefs' fix from public broadcasting. I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching America's Test Kitchen on PBS.
