Beware, everyone, I'm teething, so I'm cranky and want my blankie.

Oof. Now that I have dental insurance, I suppose I could...find a dentist and get this damn wisdom tooth outOption 1: Look at dental provider book provided by insurance company, throw darts at pages ( Read more... )

you might start with a general practitioner and then ask her for recommendations for gyn, opt, and dentist.

if you trust your coworkers, ask them where they got their wisdom teeth out (and how the experience was for them.) it seems like everyone has something to say about their wisdom tooth experiences.

What she said.
Either that or get yourself to a good barber - they could cut you a few times and get your humors back in balance.

pyran had really good experiences with 1-800-DENTIST for a dentist recommendation, of all things. I went with proximity to home, but that made for an uptown dentist for me. If you lived out here, I could recommend my gynecologist's office (several doctors, and I bet they're all as cool as mine!), and my wonderful dentist (even good for folks with dental phobia).

Clearly the solution is for you to move to the Eastside! >_>

Definitely get a recommendation for a dentist from someone who has USED the dentist. get a rec for a gyno from your GP. For optometry, just pick someone.

First ask for co-work/friend recommendations. You didn't say if you can go outside of network at a different cost (check into this, sometimes the out of pocket tends to be identical) - once you have a couple of suggestions call their business offices & see how your insurance pays them & so forth. I have found recently with my (MEDICAL NOT dental - I don't have any) insurance - that if I talk to the business office first - I can get WAY reduced costs for the mere fact they don't have to do the paper work - I do the claim & pay about 1/2 original cost..... Just a thought. But usually you have to pay them upfront of course. YMMV - good luck.

MRI - with insurance costs $1800.00 self pay $750 - I file form goes against my $5000 out of pocket - that way I only have to come up with $750, not $1800.

Mammogram - $200 - self pay $85....

Same provider. Like I said - they get paid upfront, I file paperwork.
