Dear Writers of the McDonald's sweet tea commercial I heard on the radio this morning,
It's pronounced "peck-oh," not "peek-oh." If you're going to try to insert a nod to culture in your commercials, try to get it right.

Then again, tis Mcdonalds - the same place that has done the culinary ass-raping of ribs AND lobster.

(BTW, pineapple in the Sonic tea = a good thing. It's the chunky pineapple they put on the banana splits, not just flavored syrup, so you get little bits of fruit in your tea!)

(You can even have BOTH. I'm considering pineapple and orange for my next tea -- I *think* they still have orange flavoring, that is -- for a tropical fruit tea sensation doohicky power slam thing of YAY!)

Maybe, since you are actually in the south, it is not as much of an atrocity as I'm thinking. Please tell me they have not butchered one of the cultural signifiers of the south? I mean, these are the people that thought the McRib was a good idea.
(Also, hi! I've seen you around on various comms and you seem cool. Just thought I'd introduce myself, so you're not, "Who's this random chick commenting in my journal?")

Yeah. McD's aren't regulated, which is why I said maybe it wouldn't be an atrocity. Few things will get me het up like people fucking with Sweet Tea. Yes, it gives you cavities. It's supposed to, hang it all!
Now, you were saying Sonic has Sweet Tea as well? That must be a flip-side of the Mason Dixon line thing. But since Sonic got started in the south, I'd be more willing to trust them.
I should put together a "sweet tea friendly establishment" list to denote which restaurants have Southerner-friendly tea.
!!!
Yes. Yes, you should.
