In an unfamiliar bed, she goes straight from sleep to wholehearted panic with no intermediate stage.

Oddly, what calms her down is tasting Sylar's presence downstairs.

Iris grins, makes a halfhearted attempt at smoothing down her hair (which from a combination of sleep and terrified flailing looks like a brownish dandelion), and follows the smell of bread to the kitchen.

"Good morning! We've got... fresh bread and... butter, marmalade - peach, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, cranberry, honey, pepperoni, ham - virginia, honey baked, liquid ham - not everyone's cup of tea, but eh, and nutella. Your choice."

Yes, he's still beaming. "Sleep well?"

"That's an impressive list," she tells him, grinning slightly. "I think I'll go with... blueberry jam."

And a kiss on the cheek, because that's the most important part of beginning the first day of this strange, exciting new life.

As for that question... if she avoids it, will it go away? She doesn't want to upset him, but given how she woke up, it's probably not safe to describe the night as having gone particularly smoothly.

He misses the lack of an answer, actually, because he's too busy to consider how to phrase the next question.

"Hold on, I--do you think I could kiss you? The kisses on the cheek are nice, but after 100 of them I feel like your loving brother, not your... boyfriend."
