EndNotes makes my little historian anal-retentive heart sing. Everything's so organized. It's all there. No more formatting worries, no more squinting at the screen to see if you typed a comma or period by accident. There are moments where I truly and utterly love technology. Now, where is an altar on which I can sacrifice some sort of fatted

What is EndNotes? Is it one of the MS empire's child or is it free?

Ah, EndNotes. It's the hippest new thing for the humanities grad student. It organizes all your citations (books, dictionaries, journal articles, etc.) into a nice little database and then spits out a perfectly formatted bibliography for your research enjoyment. Alas, it is not free, but I'm working with the free demo for my allotted 30 days. And then I will cry.

OK, seems like Endnote is quite a expensive program. But, there are some support available in Oxford:

http://www.ouls.ox.ac.uk/eresources/endnote
http://www.oxforduniversityshops.co.uk/oucs/shop/products.asp?func=prod&compid=1&deptid=1&prodtypeid=23

and actually the OUCS offers a student discount, even though the program is quite expensive. Maybe your department has a bulk license, I know Philippa Rock use it at her office, maybe you could ask her how she got it. I only use free software and don't use Word so I guess it doesn't mean much to me.

P.S.1 I guess the person below would get lots of spam mail after posting his address in public.

P.S.2. Geez, what did you do to get involved with the Department of Justice stuff? I'll just ask you when I bump in to you.
