The world doesn't know his secret. He hasn't been tortured to death or ripped apart by scientists. Instead, his husband has a team of scientists who are constantly inventing new weapons to help him in his determination to save their planet, all while never knowing just who exactly they're helping. He has a man behind him who has enough wealth and power to keep him safe for many years to come, and Jonathan knows Lex will stop at nothing to keep Clark as safe as he can ( ... )

Nicely done! I am always happy when Lex is let in on the secret. :)

Also very glad to see Jonathan not painted as a big, bad ogre. He had reasons for mistrusting Lex, after all, even if some fans don't want to admit it.

He was, basically, just trying to protect his son and family -- something any good father would do. But I know Jonathan's often crass personality doesn't set well with many. It didn't always for me even, but I've since rather adopted a parent's POV in some ways, his being one of them. That's why I love writing Splinter and the Turtle Tots from TMNT so much. And yet, my only children, and the only children I ever want, are totally furry! :-)

Ehehe, sugary-sweet! A little sad that it took Jonathan five years past their marriage to get to this point; I can understand Clark's trepidation. ^_^;;
