Damn that Jonathan! It had to be him that answered the phone, because Martha would have had Clark go over in the morning or after school, or she would have gone over there herself to check on him. It has been days and Clark hasn't even stop by to visit him, that is uncharacteristic. Clark would have noticed that after one day, no one had - not even him- have seen him. Clark would have heard the murmurs from disgruntle staff, who mostly are from town about not having to work or some of them thrilled about being off and still being paid via the kids at school complaining about their parents or bumping into them in town. Goodness, Poor Lex.
