Ack! Poor Clark! Poor Lex! And just as Clark was coming to the realization that people change and its okay. I hope this mess Clark made is resolved quickly.

Using the article is awesome.

Argh! Oh Clark, you ass. So blind! Lex, please forgive him - eventually. He was starting to realize his mistake all on his own.

Clark is at a disadvantage in the world sometimes, because he wouldn't just assume that the author of the article is just a misogynist asshole. But he was starting to understand! It's a hard line to walk, to have Clark make a flub like that and still have him sympathetic. I'm glad a Clark fan can read this and still get enjoyment :)

I love all fic by you, but oh, god, my embarrassment squick kicked in at this point: Clark turned to give Lex a look, then glanced down at his rock solid abdomen. "Oh, I thought, you know, from my middle, and maybe my ass."

I wanted to smack Clark before that point, because, jeez, seriously? But oh, man. Clark, you IDIOT.

And then this: Clark put a small portion of the Italian sausage lasagna he'd made on Lex's plate and took that with a salad over to Lex before he served himself.

Lex is the perfect boyfriend about it all, though. I'm waiting for the point when he decides Clark has body dismorphic disorder.

And then there was this: “Why don’t you open up my laptop? I’m still logged into my Gmail account. Hit the tag that says links, and it should bring up the stuff I save from browsing at work. I saved a restaurant website there a few days ago.” At which point I no longer wanted to slap Clark, I wanted to find the nearest bomb shelter to await the fall out.

How is he so dumb? >D

Oh, boys. *watches it all fall apart*

Sorry about the embarrassment squick. It was kinda bad in this first part, huh? Thanks for sticking through it!

My embarrassment squick is strong: it really takes very, very little to set it off. But there was no question of whether to stick it out; I have great faith in your writing and knew you'd get the boys to work it out.

>D And the first part had humor to offset it. I was quoting at the wife the entire time I was reading it. It's really not a long skip from wanting to hide my face to laughing at the Clark-fail. (especially when I see this as being... perhaps not wholly in character, but entirely too believable for Clark as I see him in canon. He is made of fail.)

*glomps* But it was good and entirely worth continuing beyond the "Oh, god!" moments. You write good fic, hon.

Oh yeah. Definitely. That was a horrible article (I went and read it first) and Chloe's comments on it were spot-on! Good Lord... o.O

Clark was an idiot, and he came to that realization just a bit too late. He better do something damn spectacular to make it up to Lex!

And the side story with Chloe investigating Oliver is great so far - I want to see where it goes!

Ugh. That article.

Hee. I hoped Chloe's side story would prove interesting to folks, even if it is just hinted at first. :)

(Run, Lex!)

I think I like Chloe the most here. She really tried to set Clark straight and make him see how awful that article was! Go Chloe. Poor Lex. I feel for him.

It's hard to face an article like that and not ramp up the snark. Poor Lex, indeed.
