“No,” the principal agreed, “It’s far more likely he’s bisexual. But I’ve brought the subject to the attention of Martha, and she seemed to take it fairly well,” Principal Reynolds told him, shifting forward in his chair, to clasp his hands on his desk. “She’ll be having a talk with him later today, if she hasn’t already.”

“And you’re telling me because…” Lex didn’t like where this was going. He liked it even less when he realized… “Oh god, you didn’t.”

“You aren't still embarrassed about it,” his former headmaster pointed out, with an undertone of you can't possibly be. “I don’t see why it would be anything but helpful for her to know.”

“My sexual orientation is none of her business!” Lex spat out angrily.

Now the principal looked vaguely worried. “Lex, your father does know already…”

“Yes!” No thanks to the man sitting in front of him. “And it went very, very poorly!”

“Lex, you were hardly disowned.”

Lex ran a hand over his head and looked away. It still hadn’t gone well. There had been a lot of yelling. And denial. On both ( ... )

Lex is usually so quick on the uptake, but the principal had to practically spell out Clark's orientation for him - priceless. I did notice Clark having pronoun trouble in a couple of the previous stories, and wondered if that was going on. The principal is being quite a busybody, though - especially outing Lex without his permission. My appropos of his character in the show, though.

Also, I didn't know this was part of a larger verse. Cool. I have been out of touch for a long time, of course, so I guess I missed it all.

:-D ---Oh, good! I was hoping that my foreshadowing was working ;) ...Yep, busybody as usual, is Lex's old headmaster-now-principal.

Yes, it is. (Probably should've posted that first-thing, instead of 'insisting' on it as a surprise for people. Oh, well. Live and learn?) It's a very intermittent series of mine; I wouldn't be surprised at your missing it. Here's the link if you're still interested in getting more of the backstory(?): http://archiveofourown.org/series/25279

(Sorry for the horrible delay. Been away from the fanfic-writing for waaaay too long. Trying to catch up a little bit now.)

I seem to be reading this in reverse order, but loving it all the same. I love how Lex automatically assumes Reynolds is finding fault with Clark and/or him.

Haha, it must have been embarrassing for Lex to have the principal point out the problem.

Great work hon.

...Maybe not so much a 'problem' as a 'fact' that Lex did not know? (Well, not a problem yet, anyway... as I suspect you may have guessed :) ;)

Thank you!
