This. All of this. Particularly the voicemail (lulz and epic win!). I kind of lawled at "And of course Sam is an abomination", myself. I say that with the utmost love for Sam, but it was funny. Right up there with the voicemail and "It's funnier in Enochian".

Gotta say, though, that I was kind of hoping Dean'd say yes. For the sake of the plot. Because we all know it's happening eventually, I kind of want to get it over with. :/ But that's just me. Denial is a completely understandable option as well.

All in all, very much agreed with this whole post. And I'm glad to read it, given that the first review I read was by someone on my flist who's been pretty unhappy with the show this season, especially recently, and kind of had a hate-on for most of this ep. I agreed with her about exactly three things in her review, lol. So yay for finding I'm not alone in thinking it was freaking awesome! :D

The 'whore of Babylon' thing has me of two minds. It's not like they made her an actual whore, and it's not like the made up the name ... OTOH, weak MOTW plot is weak which means people focus on that one word instead.

The Lisa thing I don't buy at all.

Castiel should stay drunk and embittered forever.

Your post is almost a mirror of mine, which is hilarious in its own way. Word on pretty much everything. I enjoyed this episode a lot, except maybe for the last three minutes or so. Except that while I don't agree with the statement at all, I did think the way Cas said, "And Sam of course is an abomination," and the way Sam reacted by barely reacting was pretty hilarious.

I'm kind of tired of 9/10ths of fandom. I know this show has issues, and the title combined with using the Whore of Babylon really is another thing in a long line of screw ups, but... Christ, I feel like this show is my one guilty pleasure. I note it all, but I just can't bring myself to care enough to get upset about it anymore. I am so shallow about this show, and it makes me so happy. Would I love this show more if it weren't horribly sexist? Of course. But there's still way too much to love about it to spend all my time getting upset about what they're doing wrong.
